Indian Airlines operates flight from delhi
to Ladakh. It runs flights four times a week. It also has
flight arrangements from Chandigarh to Leh. Tourist mostly
prefer to travel to Leh by air. The flight path will take
you directly above the Zanskar valley giving a beautiful
look of the most of the other ranges.

By Road:
The Manali-Leh road has served as the primary land approach
to Ladakh. The traffic starts around mid-June and continues
till early October. Himachal Pradesh state road transport
corporation and J & K state road transport corporation all
operate deluxe and ordinary bus services between Manali
and Leh. It takes approximately 19 hours from Manali to
Leh depending on weather conditions.

Places to see
- See at least one of the lakes - Pangong and Tso-morori
- for some breathtaking scenery.
- Visit some traditional monasteries: Thiksey, Mathoo,
Stakna, Alchi, Lamayuru and Hemis.
- Attend a few monastic festivals to get a glimpse of
some typically Ladakhi religious practices.
- Cross the highest motorable road in the world on the
way to the delightfully beautiful Nubra Valley.
- Visit the Palace Museum in Leh and the world famous
palace in Basgo that is a UNESCO site.
General guidelines
- Ladakh is a conservative society. Clothing must therefore
cover the body adequately.
- Public displays of affection are not considered appropriate
here.
- Do not encourage begging in Ladakh, even by presenting
what you consider to be gifts.
- Bargain for a fair price when shopping in the market,
do not pay excessively for a product.
- Act responsibly towards the environment, especially
when trekking.
